Job Description:

The position is full-time; with the job primarily involving assisting one or more trained professional psychologists and other staff in the development, implementation, review/audit, support and promotion of a relatively new and innovative, humanistic approach to construction site safety.  This work is either part-time (minimum 3-days per week) or potentially full-time; with the balance of the week (if any) spent in support of technical staff of a consulting civil/geo-environmental engineering company. 

The primary role involves meeting and/or coordination with construction site personnel, trained observers and auditors, psychologists and other colleagues providing technical and/or logistical support; developing reports and presentations based on quantitative and qualitative observations leading to findings/results; developing promotional literature, including scripting videos; and meeting prospective and existing clients to convey the benefits and results of the program.

Support of the engineering consultant company will be required only if the primary task (described above) is not full time, and will involve assisting with:  engineering data compilation and input; basic inspection of site conditions, including trees/vegetation, surface water channels, etc.; obtaining samples of treated soil, including delivery and coordination with testing laboratories; engineering drawing/ drafting development, etc. 


Job Requirements:

The job requires at least a first degree in Psychology and the ability to apply such to real-world situations involving construction personnel and their safety while on the job.  Science or engineering education is considered a benefit.

A strong command of English is required; spoken, written (to write routine and project reports, journal publications, scripts, etc.) and reading (as most journal publications are in English).  Speaking Cantonese and/or Putonghua, and reading Chinese is not required, but is considered beneficial.

Work is both in an office and on project sites; Monday through Friday, and alternative Saturdays.
